When you have team members, you can assign jobs to specific people. This helps organize who's responsible for what.
How assignment works
Each job can have an assigned team member. This is the person responsible for completing the work.
Assignment is optional — jobs can be unassigned if you prefer to manage work differently.
Assigning a job
- Open the job details
- Click the Assign dropdown
- Select a team member
- The assignment saves automatically
You can also assign jobs from the jobs list without opening each one.
Reassigning
To change who's assigned:
1. Open the job
2. Click the current assignee
3. Select a different team member
To unassign:
1. Open the job
2. Click the current assignee
3. Select "Unassigned"
Filtering by assignee
On the jobs list, filter to see:
- All jobs
- Jobs assigned to you
- Jobs assigned to specific team members
- Unassigned jobs
This helps team members focus on their work without wading through everyone else's jobs.
Notifications
When a job is assigned to someone:
- They receive an email notification
- The job appears in their filtered view
- They can see assignment in job details
Best practices
Assign at approval
When you approve a booking, assign it to whoever will do the work. This prevents jobs from falling through the cracks.
Use for route planning
Assign jobs by geography. Each team member handles their zone, making routes efficient.
Reassign when needed
Plans change. If someone is sick or overloaded, reassign their jobs to balance the workload.
Review unassigned
Check the unassigned filter regularly. Jobs waiting for assignment aren't on anyone's radar.
Team visibility
Admins can see and assign all jobs to any team member.
Members can see jobs assigned to them. Depending on settings, they may also see unassigned jobs they could pick up.
Tracking work
Assignment creates accountability:
- You know who's responsible for each job
- Team members know what's on their plate
- Reports can show work by team member
Use this data to balance workloads and identify your top performers.
